A red camera costs around $17,500 which is just the body, no hard drives, lenses, or anything like that.

Plus almost all ammature and independent film makers rent their equipment. Even most Hollywood use rentals.

$21,000 for the whole package, a lens, a battery, a view finder, is nothing! Especially considering that this might rent out for 5-6k per week.

But never would I want to buy this. To shoot in 3d would be sweet and that's the thing shooting a couple projects 3d just doesn't justify the price tag. I know CMOS chips are smaller and cooler than CCDs, but a $20k camera?
