My Hero is amazingly good but the screen is too small for my taste (and for sat nav, video watchin' , etc) and the lack of a functional voice dialing app means that I always need to keep my HD2 at the ready in my car or briefcase.

Why can't HTC heed this cry rising from the disillusioned geek masses of the world and finally give us the HD2 with android 2.1 for which we have been begging for so long ?

Being my first Android device I can't compare it to any other devices but I think it's a very nice device. It has a solid feel and the keyboard works well. I think the top row of keys is too close to the bezel. Pros
- Imeem: Gone.
- Touchscreen bug (where an area would become unresponsive, solved with two Menu clicks): (Apparently) Fixed.
- GPS faster: Kinda? Maybe? (On a related note, the "Red Hole" on maps now has a proper Google logo.)

Cons
- The remaining "permanent" apps? Ya, still effing permanent. =|
- Whatever adjustments were made to the touchscreen software have made it horribly slow responding (my "workaround" was turning on haptic feedback so I know what key presses are registering)
- SD card has been reported as "damaged" twice (mounting card via USB/inserting into card reader solves that. Could be bad card but the timing makes that possibility suspect.)
- SMS-related performance has tanked.

The only thing I can offer is that the claimed improvement in battery life came by way of adding/tweaking some demand-based CPU feature that has back-fired and undermined overall performance of an already handicapped device (since MOTOBLUR creates permanent overhead that cannot be turned off.)

As other commenters have noted, some people are getting a time issue that may be unrecoverable. Fortunately, I have not experienced that... Yet.

I'm really beginning to wonder if this isn't becoming a class action level clusterf**k of issues.
