And this is their midrange line, so the specs should wow you compared to the Eris, Pixie, iPhone 3G, and BB Storm. And don't forget the capacitive screen, class leading and legendary Carl Zeiss camera with flash, large memory, and free Ovi Maps with turn by turn. <br><br>Anything competitive would cost $125 more. But I'd rather have phones varying in size. Just speaking for myself, I'd like a phone that isn't quite as big as say, the Droid. I think that 3.2in screens aren't so small so that it'd hinder web surfing and typing that much depending on how a company implements it. The 5800 and 5530both have a 3.2in screen and the reviews I read indicated that the keyboard was actually good. It is a smartphone. There is a lots of applications for Symbian, it's just Nokia that wasn't so greedy to channel everything though an appstore and make money on that. Also, Symbian can multitask - iPhone can not do that.<br><br>Another thing - tethering with Symbian is a no-brianer. There is an app called JoikuSpot which turns your Nokia into a WiFi hotspot and it can run in the background. Symbian runs more apps on similar hardware than the others at once reliably, never crashes, and is fast switching between apps. It is not really a concern for me since I only drive in the US and I get free navigation on my palm pre. I had nokias since 1998 and every N series device I had required a restart every couple of day to clean up the memory and run faster. My memory of the last 2 years of my nokia experience is all maintnace. I'd much rather be running WM6.1 or something. It takes 8 gazillion clicks to do anything, and is nearly impossible to find certain menus and options.<br><br>All that being said, my E71 is heading into month 8, and it has a long life ahead of it. I.E. if you have an unlocked Blackberry Bold 9700 or Nokia E71x. The IMEI's are similar and they know what you are using. From what I'm hearing, those of us with Nokia smartphones, and European models of unlocked phones are not being forced on the higher data plans. I have the N97 mini on AT&T with NO data plan at all actually. However, those using the $15 a mo. unlimited plans are being forced onto the $30 dollar plans. However, as mentioned above, it depends on what unlocked equipment you are using. If they force me on a higher data plan, I'll just tell them to kiss my @zz and move on over to tmobile.
