I really do not see a touch interface layered onto an OS and applications that expect a keyboard and mouse working very well on a tablet. If the pixel density is too high, just make the fonts bigger.  Easy peasy.<br><br>Still, typing out anything longer than a quick comment is a PITA with any onscreen keyboard compared to even a crappy physical board, so I'd recommend a convertible tablet over a slate any day.  Best of both worlds. If I was looking for the best desktop OS then Windows 7 might well be it (I'm still stuck on XP at work) but it isn't the best OS to put on a tablet or other touch device and that's simply because the applications running on it almost certainly were never designed for a touch interface. Apple's tablet is supposed to be half an inch, or 1,34 cm, so adding another 0,66 cm isn't that much of a difference.
