This Phone is by far the best phone to-date. this is the perfect combination of hardware (not only the cpu, but the non glossy housing, the conviniently sized screen and the possible 21mpbs it will probably have) and because of that this phone is amazing. I guess if it was the iPhone 4GtX it would have been an aleluya time knowing that it was about to be released.

Moreover, you get a better phone. graphically customized by the people who made the phone itself and in an affordable price even without contract. not around 1000 like some other overpriced ultra glossy phones in the US. Yeah it would be nice if it were official, but i know no matter what XDA will have a WP7 rom for this thing at some point. likely an android port for it as well. It's a killer piece of hardware, that probably wont be beat by much in the near future.

Courtsey of XDA I have WM6.5 running on my old Tmobile MDA which in MS' eyes is only capable of running WM5. This is only the 2nd worthy replacement i've found for my old MDA, I almost jumped on the TP2 back in Aug, but then I heard about the HD2 and had to have it.

And about WM6.5 being a dead end, i highly doubt it. since WM6.5. will be sticking around as the "classic" naming. I'm still on the fence about WP7, and yeah at some point the mobile market place will probably have tons of WP7 only apps, but there will still be scattered WM5-6.5 development all over the web as it has existed for ages before the "marketplace" came along. Thats the nice thing about WM, no "app store" was required.

I also don't think the WM code base is disappearing anytime soon, WM is used heavily by companies for example Target stores use it on those LRT's the employees carry around for stock lookup, warehouses use it similarly. Delivery companies and service industry use them for "electronic workorders" and signature capture in the field. I don't foresee Symbol switching to WP7 for these type of devices, so either MS will be keeping WM around to cater this kind of hardware or a lot of people will be switching to Linux. My car stereo even runs windows mobile, even though you cant see the classic windows mobile interface, it boots directly into a alternate graphical shell that operates the radio, there is a way to drop out of the shell and get into the WM OS though.

d0ug

Comments on HTC HD2 and Moto Cliq XT pricing revealed in T-Mobile database?

@interested Thats the only thing keeping me intrested, I know even if MS and HTC abandon this phone, at least XDA will keep it going

digitallysick

Comments on HTC HD2 and Moto Cliq XT pricing revealed in T-Mobile database?

@interested
Why is the Editor saying that this OS is about to be of shelves or whatever he said. If I am not mistaken, I heard a "MAYBE" on the engadget show, not a "NO." Besides, there are newly made phones from HTC with the exact spec of the HD2 (except for the screen but including the resolution) which are navigation the Android waters, so if the HD2 is not part of the windows phone 7 series Phone Series then I can almost assure a Dual boot will make its way to this phone.

@Vladimir - Try to be less harsh, please!

theshadow27

Comments on HTC HD2 and Moto Cliq XT pricing revealed in T-Mobile database?

By the beard of Zeus!
