This Phone is by far the best phone to-date. this is the perfect combination of hardware (not only the cpu, but the non glossy housing, the conviniently sized screen and the possible 21mpbs it will probably have) and because of that this phone is amazing. I guess if it was the iPhone 4GtX it would have been an aleluya time knowing that it was about to be released.

Moreover, you get a better phone. graphically customized by the people who made the phone itself and in an affordable price even without contract. not around 1000 like some other overpriced ultra glossy phones in the US. Plus it's HTC.

Courtsey of XDA I have WM6.5 running on my old Tmobile MDA which in MS' eyes is only capable of running WM5. This is only the 2nd worthy replacement i've found for my old MDA, I almost jumped on the TP2 back in Aug, but then I heard about the HD2 and had to have it.

And about WM6.5 being a dead end, i highly doubt it. since WM6.5. will be sticking around as the "classic" naming. I'm still on the fence about WP7, and yeah at some point the mobile market place will probably have tons of WP7 only apps, but there will still be scattered WM5-6.5 development all over the web as it has existed for ages before the "marketplace" came along. Thats the nice thing about WM, no "app store" was required.

I also don't think the WM code base is disappearing anytime soon, WM is used heavily by companies for example Target stores use it on those LRT's the employees carry around for stock lookup, warehouses use it similarly. Delivery companies and service industry use them for "electronic workorders" and signature capture in the field. I don't foresee Symbol switching to WP7 for these type of devices, so either MS will be keeping WM around to cater this kind of hardware or a lot of people will be switching to Linux. If I am not mistaken, I heard a "MAYBE" on the engadget show, not a "NO." Besides, there are newly made phones from HTC with the exact spec of the HD2 (except for the screen but including the resolution) which are navigation the Android waters, so if the HD2 is not part of the windows phone 7 series Phone Series then I can almost assure a Dual boot will make its way to this phone.

i found an Authorized Tmobile dealer that sells and subsidizes imported phones like the Euro HD2 and SE Satio and asked around and finally have a plan to score an HD2 for the moment and get whatever is the best WP7S may come out by the end of 2010

1) since we are leaving verizon we are gona get the $79 Family Plan that allows me to SUBSIDIZE the Euro HD2 for $199, my parents are gona get themselves free phones since the only need a call and text phone while my sister will get the Sidekick LX(with a data plan only on hers) getting the Euro HD2 allows a LINE SUBSIDY without forcing me to go to a 2 yr/$25 data plan thus saving me $600 on the data plan i will not be using, and its UNLOCKED out of the box

2) i will be spending time in asia for the better part of the year so ot having a data plan to pay for even if im not using it saves me a load of cash and part of the $10/24mo for $240 is a bit of a bummer but hey i saved $600 right off the bat

3) in the event that WP7 does come out(when it comes out as an available upgrade to the HD2 i will sell my unlocked Euro HD2 for a minimum of $600 since in the Philippines high end devices cost both arms, both legs and your head (49,990.00 PHP = 1,084.264 USD) i can still make a killing enough to get the Tmobile HD2 (if again it does get the WP7)

in the event that it does not and a better WP7 phone whoever makes it (crossing fingers for HD3 or HD4) then again il sell the Euro HD2, make a killing and buy whatever is the best best WP7 that comes out

Oh btw I'm a proud owner of a Nexus One but I'll be getting the HD2 when it drops. :D Bieng on the best carrier in the US on T-Mob has it's perks. Best plans/prices, great and fast 7.2mbps HSPA coverage for me in NYC, very reliable. And 21mbps HSPA+ almost here!!

Can't wait to try out the beast that is the HD2 soon. Heard it's a little big but I can handle that, and slimmer than the Nexus also. Gonna love that huge 4.3" screen. And I'm sorry, but did we forget this thing is more powerful then 90% of the smartphones out there today? 1GHz Snapdragon, 576MB RAM, 802.11n Wi-Fi, 4.3" 800x480 capacitive multi-touch screen, 5MP camera with auto-focus.
