If an LCD/LED set loses 30% of it's brightness after 10,000hrs, doesn't that cancel out calibration as well!? Every TV's picture quality changes over time. So Panasonic has a few cases where the black levels have shifted slightly...big whoop. They have the lowest repair record and extremely high customer service score. Samsung is marketing LED TVs that are actually LCDs with a different backlighting system. The scariest part is that no one can quote life span on those sets. The longest lasting LED bulb on the market is 50,000 hours! That should be a topic of conversation. At least my Plasma will last twice as long.
