Precisely what is Skinput? It is a prototype touch display that shoots an image to your skin and you use your arm and hand like a keyboard. So rather than pulling out your cell phone to send that next text message you would pull up your sleeve and shoot a picture of a keyboard onto your arm. From there the vibrations would be sensed and what you are trying to type (on your arm) would be sent! If this sounds like something from Back to the Future it is because it is! Think voice recognition where you say "Listen" and it starts listening.  "Stop listening" ensures you can have a conversation without it trying to recognize things.  The easiest way I could see that seems to work in the video is a hard fist.  Clench on, clench off.  Or, as previously mentioned, a simple standby type switch on the armband. I'm not sure what the exact use case would be though. Maybe it'd work for accessing a phone or pmp without taking it out of your pocket. It could potentially be useful in some really specific situations where you could use an interface but can't carry a lot of stuff, maybe in the military or sports. <br>It's not exactly the holographic interface I dream about but it gets us closer to the idea of not needing too many peripherals. They are doing some seriously great things with this and Project Natal when it comes to creating new ways to interact with computer systems. MSFT is doing way more than Windows and Office these days (its two biggest cash cows). If it can keep up this innovation like this and turn just a couple of them into moneymakers, they won't be going anywhere. The applications for a (really) wearable computer are endless.  One of the biggest problems I see with wearable tech is being fragile in one way or another.  You bump something, and either it breaks, or it breaks you.  This way there is only you.  Skin heals, gadgets don't.  This combined with some sort of eye-mounted display would be amazing on so many levels.
