Palm has fell short of predicted 3q earnings. As reported by MarketWatch, "Palm said it would close its third fiscal quarter with more than $500 million in cash, equivalents and short-term investments. That's down by $90 million from the end of the previous quarter."

Palm has little cash flow to invest in the company for R&D and "Apple extensive" marketing. -Basically, they only have money for minor updates, such as WebOS 1.4 However, it is suggested that they must invest in both marketing and R&D to create "leading edge hardware design", as quoted by Matt Thornton of Avian Securities

Palm must receive support from carriers to rebound. i.e. make a deal with AT&T giving Palm the ability to sell GSM phones

They are just above their 52 week low of $5.81 -Currently @ $6.14 But that's, in part, due to the Qualcomm rally this past week. Meaning, that it may drop after the Tech Industry boost.

Shares are roughly double of what they were before the release of WebOS. -Analysts suggest that if the stock drops down to pre-WebOs prices the company could be bought out. Possibly by HP or Dell.

Most research experts have the stock at "Hold" or "Avoid"

...That's about everything.

My opinion is that Palm will rebound. Especially now that they know that EVERYTHING is at stake--that is, no more meaningless TV advertisements like they did in launching the Pre, and who knows what else. So i'm hoping for the best, but prepared for the worst. Personally, I bought my first shares of Palm at $6.09 this past Friday.

Furthermore, and this is just my opinion, I think in order for Palm to really boost Pre sales, in the short term, is for them to include an on-screen keyboard in their next WebOs update.

If you love Palm and WebOS....For everyone reading this, I STRONGLY suggest to you to call Palm and suggest that they include an on-screen keyboard in their next update -I have already called several times requesting this in the past week. Moreover, you can go to Palm's website and suggest the on-screen keyboard and whatever else you feel would be beneficial @ http://www.palm.com/us/company/feedback.html , also something i did recently.
