They are gonna really miss the flip out screens.. It looks really cool to their target demographic and its actually pretty functional.. Id love a Sidekick shaped Android or Windows device...

Sidekick has such a huge brand awareness and the flip screen was so popular I wonder if T-mo somehow has rights to that??

Oh, God, I know exactly what you mean. The Glyde is a great design, but the touchscreen is horrendous. It was Samsung's first major foray into touchscreen phones, and they chose capacitive. Awesome in theory, but the screen screws up so much that it isn't funny.

On mine it usually ends up registering the lower right corner (usually the back button) no matter where I press. To make it work, I have to wash off the screen (my fingers aren't even greasy either!) and turn it off for a minute or two. No combination of touchscreen sensitivity/vibrate level settings will help. In the beginning I bragged about the benefits of capacitive screens to my Dare owning cousin, but now I hang my head in shame.

In fact, I just dug up my old Samsung SCH-A930 and charger and am about to switch back to it for the few remaining months until my New-Every-Two is up. If only the touch screen worked as it should, the Glyde would be an amazing phone, but when you can't even try to answer a call without it registering 'ignore'...
