If you have demoed Android on multiple handsets you'd see that all configurations operate pretty much the same - unless a custom interface was added (Like Motoblur or Sense, which you can always turn off.) I noticed the trend of making Android phones less elegant looking than WM ones but honestly, I don't think the Supersonic looks cartoony in any way.

It looks very similar to a phone HTC would build for WM to me. The circular buttons set it apart from other phones that just have capacitive icons or hardware ones like the HD2. Otherwise, the phone looks pretty good to me. If you're talking about the white back, well, the iPhone has a white back too. Based on T-mobile's trend they will likely go negative with customer adds in Q3 2010.
