Some companies make laptops with Nvidia/ ATI GPU but the cost is not the same as putting an Intel chip. Higher end lappy get Nvidia/ATI and mid to lower usually have Intel, cost effective mate. And I'm pretty sure that this is not like "the Intel pays manufactures to avoid inclusion of Nvidia or ATI chips". If we complain how expensive Nvidia cards are for our desktop then think how big in terms of price difference it would be between having to manufacture a lappy Nvidia/ATI chip and a lappy with Intel chip.

hero785

Comments on Jen-Hsun Huang is 'looking forward' to court date with Intel, sees no reason to settle (video)

Newby here!! lol!!
Been reading this site and ur comments for a while now..some of u r good at thinking and saying things and some of u r just trolls lol!!

Anyways I thought I'd finally make my own account and contribute!!

This guy sounds like he is determined but I don't think he's going to get as much as he's hopping for. One thing about laptops; it's the manufactures choice to put what they want in it in terms of graphics and you can certainly see that they all range from Intel graphics to Invidia depending on what class the laptop falls into. I'm sure no one wants a GTX 295, how long will it take before that laptop melts. Then again if you go and look for gaming laptop (not mainstream laptop for everyday use like school work and business and browsing and watching movies) but gaming laptop then it's clear that it either has an ATI chip or Nvidia so I don't think he's gonna win that battle.Intel takes that easily. Also don't forget the costs of making a lappy with gaming GPU, it's more than making a lappy with an ok GPU. I recently walked into futureshop and they are discontinueing one of Sony's best lappy that has Nvidia 330M simply bcoz Sony is losing money for pricing it very low. It's 1200 for Sony and 1700 for an HP with similar specs. See what I mean, so manufacture decides on what to put, can't blame Intel on this.

hero785

Comments on Jen-Hsun Huang is 'looking forward' to court date with Intel, sees no reason to settle (video)

Don't forget the AMD / ATI (CPU/GPU Combo) beside the Intel's own CPU/GPU.

wsansewjs

Comments on Jen-Hsun Huang is 'looking forward' to court date with Intel, sees no reason to settle (video)

Ok? and I've noticed much of you focused on this as well, but if NVidia 'prevails', who cares how much money they will make?! I think Nvdia sees that they can't compete with Intel so they have to take them to court.
