I agree that If you go for the larger ones it gets a touch out of hand, but when you like and can afford the latest and greatest why not give it a shot? Besides the inherent benefits of plasma (off-angle viewing, natural full motion resolution, color accuracy, no clouding/flashlighing) the Panasonic VT25 plasma series is the first to incorporate black level technology from the now-deceased Pioneer Kuro series — which is said to still be the best television today despite being out of production for a year or more. And I don't know where you got the idea that plasmas are more expensive to repair, but 1.) It appears that the 3D tv's coming out from March through July will be the 1st gen 3D TV's at a premium price.  Does this mean ESPN 3D is only geared to the rich early adopter this year?
