Nikon D90 torn down, rebuilt in pink (video)
Words... what good are words when you're trying to describe the horrific visage of a growling, rugged, heavyweight camera coated in the frilly tutu of the color spectrum, magenta? We shan't try to describe the peculiar mix of revolt, disgust and subtle desire that this whole thing incites in us, and will just point you after the break for the video. There's plenty of good clean fun to be had while exploring the dismantled D90 (though there's one instance of foul language when the modder gets an electric shock, understandable) and if you're of a nervous disposition you can always skip the shockingly pink finale.

@SirNoDroin Was that meant to be a Joke?
G..
@Dood
giggity.
@Dood
What a waste of a good camera.
Did this guy have any affiliation with those guys that smashed a perfectly good XBOX 360 the day it came out?
@Dood
how do you get a shock when the battery is out?
@Saad the other one
Most likely, the capacitor for the flash held a charge, and was discharged into his finger when he touched it.
viral marketing anyone?
blatent
@doccutter
Definitely the capacitor. I used a screwdriver to claw sand out of a camera once and touched the contacts. It honestly feels like someone has smashed a brick over the back of your head.
@DaveBach
I think a woman would have done it better, neater and it would have worked at the end.
What a waste of time, this guy didn't even try to do it right. We'd all be better off if he'd paint his mouth shut and jump off a bridge.
@Dood
how dare they did this to a D90? :(
thats hot :D
@Sieg
No, it's not.
@Cyrs Maybe he was trying to say "thats hot pink" in which case it is... but still very terrible... poor camera :(
T-mo lawsuit over the color in 3... 2.... 1...
@JoePalma
Your timings off...
@E71 Its never the wrong time for a frivolous lawsuit!
Oh dear Lord why?
I figure he lost his camo painted one in the grass. This will fix that.
So is this show the Japanese electronics version of the UK's Top Gear??
@Hazdaz
The guy sounds exactly like James May, does he!
@microlomaniac hehe, I was going to say the same thing.
*Vomits*
I need a doctor...
*Vomits again*
Never in my life have I seen anybody do a worse paintjob :P
@Atkins
Well, I'll get to that later...right now I'm still in awe (shock) :P
verdict: it stands out
sad...
revolting
Project pink? :/
He should have just blended it straight away and put it out of its misery.
If you haven't watched it yet, let me spoil it for you:
It's all one big joke. And it's not very funny at all.
rofl, it reminds me the works of the guys in Top Gear, when they recieve 500$ and have to build e.g. a racing car ;)
I thought Lady GaGa was working for Polaroid.
That's the crappiest mad I've seen so far today.
@barry99705 Mod. Why don't we get an edit button?
I have a D80 and I shuddered watching him handle the camera! What a waste!
@who said what
My sentiments exactly
thats just dumb :(
@steakman - If I was Asian I would learn English in the UK so I get to pull off verbal shockage every time I open up on some racist American A-hole expecting to here some chop-socky broken English. "My command of the English language is ten times better than yours, F-OFF!" ;^p..
PS back in the old British ruled Hon Kong days this happened quite a bit and I loved watching it every time.
Did he just call that camera the n-word? Then he paints it another color because he has something against black?
Judging how many times he dropped something, I'd be suprised if it actually works
Really effective use of censorship..
BEEP F**K!
I can see doing something like this to your equipment if you don't want it to get ripped off. I know an electrician who paints his tools pink to keep them from disappearing from the job site. But a camera... ouch.
Even as a Canon shooter that was hard to watch.
So has he never disassembled sensitive electronics before or what? Leaving pretty much all the buttons and knobs on when painting it, doing it on a chair at a computer desk rather than a workbench, suspending the camera in the air with the parts dangling, dropping it several times, not discharging the capacitors.
This is f-ing hilarious, I was getting ready for "pissedoffedness" but I leave with a taste of hilarity in my mouth.
+1
Did he really just leave the cmos area uncovered while running the shutter? wow...worse guide ever. should be renamed to "How to Break your D90 by being an idiot"
@steakman have you heard someone in the UK speak English? Better command of it? lol you must be mistaken. UK and America are equally English deficient, they just have different accents...you are better of in Canada (as long as you can get over the weird way they say "sorry")
Hillllllarious!
As a Canon shooter, I'm like wow. Chills went through my spine.
