Amd is not comparable to intel benchmark wise a the same clock speeds. Before i go on too far, I run my system on an AMD 945 deneb and its pretty sweet and much cheaper than intel. On the same lines however... Intel's i7 processors are in a whole new ballgame than AMD. They use less power at peak, and grossly less power at idle. They offer hyperthreading on each core of the cpu, they automatically overclock themselves if your computer needs a temporary boost, and they handle HD better than AMD.

I love my AMD and that I paid so little for it off Newegg, but Intel's i7 is worth the money for the difference it offers to users who need the most powerful rig out there.

It's a proven fact there is no AMD equivalent to the i7 in terms of processing power. Not until Thuban comes out, and by then Intel will have Sandy Bridge. Also, many motherboard makers have Windows based OCing utilities that can make the process much easier than poking around your BIOS. $150 for that much overclock is not a bad deal. Only catch seems to be you need to also get the liquid cooling that will cost a lot more than regular fan.
