Come on, you're delusional. First of all, let's establish that there is no such thing as a modern OS that doesn't multitask. Even iPhone multitasks. But WinPhone7 - as with iPhone before it - has simply decided to not make the APIs for multitasking available to developers, for performance reasons. What is it that you hope they will show in the summer? The code for multitasking ALREADY EXISTS. The fact that they launched without it shows their intention to not make it available, so what do you think will happen by the summer to change their minds?

Tonicboy

Comments on

@Alz "The notifications are available regardless of whether the app is open, a model that mirrors Apple's and likely a heavy dose of foreshadowing that multitasking -- at least, multitasking as we know it -- won't be available."

This could be true, but IMO this is a dumb way to analyze the situation. Ok, so given this scenario, multitasking is less likely? I'd say with or without this multitasking is just as likely, this is just a way that doesn't require to you multitask to get the alerts you need (therefore save processing power), hence a great feature with or without multitasking. That isn't saying the same thing as not multitasking, so this should be a feature in all multi-tasking phones and fartphones (fake-smartphones).

juanvaldez

Comments on

Sounds much more efficient!

hdawggy

Comments on

I love it, not only does it look fluid and sensible, but it's also unobtrusive in a way that you can ignore it and it goes away!

bySeon

Comments on

Send me a Windows 7 phone with the ability to do push notifications or it didn't happen!

RemDX

Comments on

Dear Microsoft,

You Are Killing!

Yours,
Everybody

Saad Rabia

Comments on

@Mack Stone
Yeah....
