Stop telling me what I need and don't need.

That's if you go by what's available today. Who knows what will be released on the marketplace in the future? Maybe I want to copy something from an application so I can search for it in internet explorer. Maybe I want to copy a link inside an application so I can paste it in a text message.

You'll never know when you'll decide it would just be easier to copy and paste something. I have to say I'm stunned they could make such an obviously stupid mistake by not including copy and paste. It took Apple quite a while to get that fixed and they are quite nimble compared to MS. Push notifications just don't cut it; I don't see why an elegant solution to multi-tasking can't be found, they seem to be patronising the end-users, thinking people will just leave dozens of apps running.

I know it's a bit off-topic for this post but over the past few days we've had any semblance of multi-tasking ruled out as well as side-loading apps, any customization and even copy and paste.

These tiles just seem like Sense UI and the only redeeming feature I can see is in gaming. I really hope Microsoft proves me wrong because I'm sick of my locked-down iPhone and am worried about turning to Android (fragmentation), WebOS (not many developers) and don't get me started on Nokia.

Yeah, my iPhone is jailbroken and there are some good corrections to the OS. Multitasking works great with backgrounder and ProSwitcher/Circuitous.

The vast majority of the jailbreak scene is purely productive. SBSettings and Winterboard, etc. are all brilliant apps; if only Apple would recognize this, it's made my phone twice as useable.

We need a frankenstein OS: the openness of Android, the finish of iPhone OS, the gaming and Windows integration of 7 series and multi-tasking of WebOS.

It eats battery life like crazy when you keep certain combinations of cards open. I imagine this is part of the reason for no multitasking.

I think it is designed to be a better version of the iphone. The model of wm6 failed and the iphone didn't so they moved their platform closer to the "winning" way of thinking.

Where wp7 will "win" is in the media and gaming aspects. This is the xbox portable so you will have millions of people get it for that alone.
