Pictures do not do it justice. It is very well built - feels solid in the hand. It is amazingly thin and light making transport as easy as it gets. The price increase was not reported on Engadget or anywhere else, in fact they still referred to a mythical $1799 price point in their articles up until this one. No dig at Engadget here, because every media outlet did the same.

Anyways I had hoped that perhaps Dell took the opportunity to put a half decent screen in this thing, instead of the mediocre panel it was originally spec'ed with. Forget about pictures and comments (Have you guys every even saw this computer in person?) It is a solid piece of engineering that is ahead of it's time and why most people visually think its odd/ugly.
The design works, keyboard is great (metal keys make this the best feeling keyboard I've ever used). Screen is nice and bright (some extreme viewing angles are washed) It's kind of like the Bugatti Veyron with its high price and a love it or hate it design but when you see one in person you forget about your opinion and just stare. It is sooooo incredibly thin. It's far from ugly but more like having gull wing doors in a crowd of standard cars. And yes, people will ENVY you!
