I happen to have liked what I herd and saw. Ofcorse theres room for improvement and the OS and still glitchy, but its still not a final product. I myself wouldnt mind picking up one of these phones if all MSFT have said comes to pass.

This helps to draw in and keep developers from porting to other operating systems - although tools to recompile to Android, Xcode etc and vice versa will be available. It helps to differentiate the platforms but may put off some devs who are not already in the "family".

For devs, how "easy" is it to port WinMo 6.x apps to WP7S?

Copy and Paste on a touch interface is VERY difficult to pull off because you have to consider how to implement it. You'll probably see it in a couple of updates and that's why it took apple so long.

That being said, the major difference between a WinMo phone and an iPhone has always been the keyboard option.
