So how can you sit there and say that their bad, true that when I would go over to someones house who had direct TV their picture quality was good and rarely gave out even in foul weather, but I look at the glitches as an artistic twist (of M. My favorite aspect of Comcast is their great billing technology. I enjoy spending my whole Saturday paying my bill. I really enjoy it when I call to pay and I get a recording to call another number if I want to pay. Then when I call that number they give me another number from a recording which coincidentally is the same number I am currently calling (what an awesome cyclic process they have created). Then I get to speak with their always helpful customer service department, which of course charges money to pay over the phone. The first being that when you wear those glasses, it requires concentration on one activity. I can't set up a 3d TV in my workspace because i don't want to wear 3d glasses while i work, I can't use a laptop when i'm on my living room couch, etc. People multitask these days, 3d doesn't allow that. What happens when i'm channel surfing between 3d and non-3d shows, do i have to take the glasses off? 2nd, we don't even have 50% penetration of HDTV and now we're throwing out new technologies? 3rd, no one knows how much of the content is going to be in 3d so there is no compelling reason to upgrade.
To me, when I think of the genesis of the 3d TV technology, i think of a boardroom full of people trying to figure out how to get more money from customers and brainstorming...."we're nowhere near the bandwidth to improve on the HD picture, the TVs are already razor thin...what else is there to do?"

And on another point, Cablevision sucks. Their cable boxes are from the 90s and can't keep up with the most gentle tasks, such as bringing up the channel guide. The UI looks like something out of 1985 and they are probably the most anti-competitive company i have ever seen. When they had their recent dispute with ABC, they did something to their boxes where when you turned on the TV each time, it tuned into a special channel that broadcast this propaganda message about their issues with ABC, complete with the calm lady with the nice voice talking and the selected phrases from the message displayed on the TV. If it happened one time, it would been annoying....but it happened for 2 weeks! Considering it takes their decrepit boxes about 30 seconds to accept the command to change the channel, i spent quite a bit of time looking at that dumb message. On Long Island, Cablevision's awful business practices recently got even worse when they bought Newsday, our only daily paper and pretty much use it for the benefit of the company...they refuse to run FIOS ads, they run "stories" about how fast Cablevision's internet speeds are and they never criticize MSG or anyone that runs the teams.

JK

Comments on Cablevision bumps Comcast to the back, 3D sports at home starts next week

@JK11

Also cablevisions anti competitive tactics are a pain in the rear.
