The Engadget Show live with Nicholas Negroponte, PlayStation Move, and Joystiq's Chris Grant
Keep your eyes tuned to this post -- because at 5:00 PM ET, we'll be starting The Engadget Show live, with Nicholas Negroponte of the MIT Media Lab and OLPC Project, Dr. Richard Marks showing off Sony's PlayStation Move, commentary from Joystiq editor Chris Grant, plus much, much, more! You seriously don't want to miss it!
Update: The live show is over, but don't fret. We've got the full version coming soon (within a day) for download via iTunes, Zune Marketplace, and RSS feed, or you can watch the stream right here. Stay tuned, the post will be soon!
Of course, if you're in NY we'd love to have you attend the show in person at the Times Center. It's absolutely free! We'll start handing out tickets at 2:30PM, open the doors for seating at 4:30PM, and the show itself starts at 5PM. There will also be giveaways from Sony after the show, but you obviously have to be here to participate! All the info about attending can be found here.
Can't make it? We forgive you, and there's a live video stream that can be found after the break. In the spirit of awesome, we've enabled tweeting directly to the live stream! To be a part of The Engadget Show broadcast, just include the hashtag "#engadgetshow" and watch for your tweet on the ticker at the bottom of the screen. One thing to note, The Engadget Show is a family program, so any single instance of swearing or trolling will force us to turn off the ticker... and it won't come back on. So, keep it clean and have fun!

@mascarpone Dont hate
@rokorre I hate the haters, does that count?
Thanks for the advanced notice! Now I just have to find a way to kill two hours.
@marcomera maybe do something productive
The move shall be a fun product. I hope they show more of the controller tech.
@teapower I"m not sure I understand.
@marcomera
Heyyy they never showed the give aways as promised!!
=[[
Live stream: VERY brave!
@69camaroSS
you guys need to get this show on itunes, id love to watch it on the train to college in the morning.
@tobsmonster2 they do.
@kwiiboy
I swear, some people are gonna troll just to get the ticker closed for everyone else. Or is it just going to ban that ONE person.
I REALLY wanna go for this. SO BAD.
Thanks for the livestream, engadg' boyz'nd gals.
Due to schedule constraints, I wont be able to make a dramatic entrance at the show. I'm still in the Havaz Galaxy. Just give me a mention on the show ok? If you value your life
I guess I can do some laundry until the show starts...
Ginger dude just told Asian dude a funny joke.
Should have the 24 clock noise on the countdown - would make it way more dramatic!
WAY too quiet on the stream
@otherman
Yeah, I have everything on max and it's hard to hear. =(
@otherman
I had to pull out the in-ear headphones.
where's the stream???
How do we turn off the Twitter feed at the bottom? Its annoying at times and the option to turn it off would be great.
There's no close-captioning....this sucks!
@cray
Opposed to distant captioning?
Hey guys, do the show in San Francisco sometime please!!! I'd drive the 2.5 hours to come.
ugh, stream not working with chrome dev version, had to use firefox
hey it's me or the audio is not good!!!! :(
You're right the audio is quite weak. I had to put on my earphones otherwise I could barely hear anything.
@Pazuzu Can also confirm audio is very very very quiet, to the point that wearing my headphones, to hear them talk, any system sound almost deafens me.
the volume on the stream is REEEALLY low... i have everything turned up and i can still barely hear it.
Please fix the sound before the Move segment.
jea, turn up this mics
I come to see the PS Move get this other stuff over with!
The audio for the live stream is way too quiet.
Nicholas Negroponte is brilliant, my favorite guest so far on the Engadget show.
@Hotrod He just threw the laptop! This guy is the man.
He reminds me of Mark Hamill.
Y'all make sure to turn up the little speaker icon on bottom right
Why is the audio volume so low? Very difficult to hear on a laptop.
Tried putting the link thru VLC so I could turn up the volume, but no dice.
Advice?
@Liberty
Responding to myself: In Win7 I did find something that helped; in Mixer > Headphones/Speaker properties > Enhancements > Turn on "Loundness Equalization"
This gave me louder audio.
Nilay and Josh seem like 12 year olds playing with Move, haha.
Sony got to do more of these tech demos to other sites and shows. I came away very impress with the PSMove.
@Mike777
Totally agree, it wowed me quite a lot. The 3D camera control was awesome.
Where is our android app???
Wow, I am blown away by the PlayStation move, I can see unlimited possibilities.
At first when I saw the move and glowing globes, I thought bleh! But, now after this demo, I am in total shock, its amazing!
@Hydra I have to admit the new demo's have got me excited about this again after what was shown at GDC leaving me incredibly indifferent
Special thanks South Korea! Indeed.
Very impressive tech. What was the deal with the fat guying being an asshole and a troll? Surprised they even wanted to come on your show.
Very impressed by the quality of the show. No drop-outs, sound was fine, every you'd expect!
The quality of the actual conversations were fantastic. Full of detail, no hesitation in the views of each speaker.
Them lucky sods who got a free PlayStation Move! Very jealous. Still buying!
Thanks engadget and good night!
:-)
Minority Report is here! PS MOVE!
