j2daake you make a good point about the need for the gold live membership on the XBOX to gain access to the Netflix content. Never thought about that since I've always had a live account with the system. Are there really that many XBOX 360 owners out there that don't have a gold live membership? On the 360 you can fast forward through the movie while it shows you a picture of the particular spot in the movie like a slide show. On the Ps3 when you fast forward, the pictures will not show up for a good 1+ minute!

To me that is way slower when considering the 360 is instantly there. As for the movie playback the Ps3 is a tad slower but not dramatically.

But that isn't likely to happen. If you have a windows box anywhere on your network, try setting up PlayOn and you can play Netflix on your Linux box served from the windows PC.
