I bought them during a trip to South Florida at a Best Buy. They sound great like a lot of the other Sony earbuds, but definitely don't hold up for very long.<br><br>Just a warning to those people who've bought any or are interested in Sony premium earbuds. I've had 4 different sets (each a different model number) fail on me within 2-3 months after purchasing them. One of the ears goes out or faintly produces sound. The same thing happens each time. I tried to RMA these MDR-EX38iPs, but I lost my receipt so I was out of luck. I'm not hard on the earbuds or yank the cord or anything like that. I had some Shure E2s but the cord failed after about 5 years (okay, the first pair I had failed after 6 months and were replaced under warranty).<br><br>I'm using Sennheiser CX300s but the fit isn't so great.  Got some Klipsch S4i on the way with in-line remote and mic.  Looking forward to having earbuds with the convenience of the mic and remote for travel when I don't take my BT headset. For more isolated listening, the Apple in-earsare hard to beat. If the higher-end sony buds are $80 or more, just go with Apple. Hard to tell from your post.  The article says the Sonys start at $40.  You're right that most in-ears don't rock dual drivers at the $80 pricepoint, but I've never heard the Apple ones described as best-of-breed. They're pretty good, sony-like sound (lots of high and low), but definately a good buy if you want iPod controls. On the down side: they leak sound more than they should. I first switched over to the black earbuds made by motorila for the Rckr and they worked well til I accidently wen over them with a lawn mower.  Then I switched over to the black Sonys and loved them just as well.  I'm not a fan of white wires since they scream out "I got an Iphone!!!" and I feel like an Apple drone lol.
