I'm surprised none of the tech editors/bloggers are harping on the high early adopter tax with this device. Let me be clear--Apple has said not to expect a free upgrade to OS 4.0 with this model iPad. They are setting themselves up for another iPod touch/iPod touch 2nd-gen scenario (for those who don't remember, the original iPod touch adopters had to fork over extra cash for OS 2.x/3.x and missed out on speaker, Bluetooth.)

The iPad is going to be huge for Apple, and the competition is already chomping at the bit, so I wouldn't be surprised to see a new model in 6-12 months to coincide with the OS 4.0 release. We've already seen hints of a possible webcam version with iChat.

OS 3.2 is a joke--Apple hasn't been able to optimize it "from the ground up" for the iPad screen format or A4 processor. Remember when the iPhone came out and so many people went out to spend $600 on the phone. Yes, it was a revolutionary phone but worth $600.
