Other than delivery and Pad Mouse apps, everything else seems rather gimmicky to me. Sooner or later, people will realize they are needlessly buying gimmicks that they won't ever use after the first week of downloading.

A gimmicky app is a gimmicky app regardless of what platform it is on - iPhone/iPad/Android/PC/Mac. Actually I don't have any Android experience under my belt but I can't imagine why my feelings would be any different about any app that has low utility and high chance of not getting used after the novelty wears off quickly.

It matters because rather than discussing the tech or the story too much time is going on flame wars for no reason. The post before this one, about a floating pink waterproof TV got 11 comments...this one, posted AFTER has already had more than 40 and Engadget seems to be deleting a lot, so it's probably more. If you don't like the saturation, then comment on something else and send the message that the "something else" is more interesting to you. They will then give you more of it.
