HTC isnt a large enough company to build devices for three different operating systems. Unless they make there devices internationally launched and capable of doing all three OS's. Like having the EVO android, EVO WM, and EVO WEBOS. Windows Phone 7 just won't deliver that much for HTC. I'm not saying it's not a great OS, but like Android, it'll be pushed over many different variations of hardware. We've already seen an LG and Samsung phone for WP7, so like android I'm sure we can see "fragmentation" just like all the different versions of WinMo over X amount of hardware.<br><br>HTC, if you do buy Palm, please make it your "HOME" OS, i'm not saying taht x android device or x WP7 device will suck, i'm just saying that you're at a stage where you're doing great, pushing sales, and people are starting to recognize. If they have their own OS I'd imagine the long term move would be to move away from both WM and Android and support their own platform. Did you buy one. Stuff becomes commodity and there is little capital investment. That's why things like cement haven't been improved upon in I don't know how many decades. Why do you think there isn't major research on battery tech taking place? Technology makes huge leaps when the market is limited to about 3 players .. only then are capital outlays made to invest in large projects.<br><br>Also, from an app developer standpoint the only way to reach all the smart phone users will be to develop to multiple platforms .. if there are only two or three players, it becomes easier to invest in making a kick ass app instead of having to port, test, and support it on multiple platforms. Acquire more patents, integrate some members of the workforce that aren't redundant, and politely tell Google and HTC to go screw themselves.  As a gift, they can issue a WebOS update that once again sync customers with iTunes.  Then they can take WebOS out behind the shed and put it down like old yeller, before incorporating many of its innovations into iPhone OS.  As we know, iPhone OS 4's multitasking is closest to how Palm's is, and if the iPhone gained Palm OS 5 emulation as an app (and an SDK exception for such a monumental transition), it would still help a lot of people transition to a new platform with a future.]]></description><dc:creator><![CDATA[Cleverboy]]></dc:creator><pubDate>Apr 12th 2010 3:37AM</pubDate></item></channel></rss>
