This device has played every video format that I've thrown at it with the exception of .FLV files. The Applib market is good but of course, no where near the capacity of the Android Marketplace. Let the consumers get their hardware and form factor size point to their liking. In the past Archos had been criticized for having set too high a price and included too many features, then they started to cut out things like codec support to keep the entry cost down. I think they will still focus on keeping costs down by nickel and diming where possible, but I like the idea that people can get in at an even lower price point and possibly get things included/excluded such as: 3G (replace phone? or just a mid), larger HD, smaller/larger screen (problem to some people for one of the close, but not quite direct competitor of the mini 5), etc.

In the end, it is possible that there are 4 real devices here and it doubles due to 3G radio options (the two on the far left look nearly identical in size, though it can just be the angle or some other factor).

juanvaldez

Comments on

@juanvaldez

Looks to me like 2 versions of both the 3" and the 7".
