As long as it's only the radio he's controlling then it wouldn't be too bad. Could you imagine if he controlled the car.. It adds no value. Why not use the ipod as-is. The in-built car LCD screen is best used for GPS and all the usual things, not an iPod menu.

For instance, I have a 2007 Prius and have a DICE unit. I would LOVE to be able to see a list of playlists/songs/audiobooks/etc but that doesn't appear to be possible. Not just with the DICE unit but any device you can connect to my Prius.

As for those replacement "radios" I'm not impressed at all.

It would be absolutely great if Apple would make an easy to use API for companies to interact with iPods/iPhones. It just doesn't seem to be something that Steve Jobs is interested in, despite his supposed love of Music. Maybe he doesn't have time to listen to music in his cars.
