Are they really charging us more for the "new tech tax" that come with the spec-bump, or the "Apple Experience"? Seeing how the specs for the entire lineup are in line with mid-tier notebooks that have been out for at least two-three months now, there's nothing cutting edge about the new MBP specs to warrant shameless price increases due to new tech. Likewise, there doesn't seem to be any improvements made on the OS or other significant MBP-only feature that distinguishes it from its immediate predecessor and makes for an improved "Apple Experience". Having brought up these issues, where is the justification in the price increase? The price increase due to the hardware specs is quantifiable, but many die-hard Apple fans seem to think that the "Apple Experience" follows no conventional/rational way to quantify its worth. If that's the case, then shouldn't the "Apple Experience" at least be quantifiable relative to its own history? If so, then based on the past, the cost of the Apple Experience shouldn't have increased the price, considering they haven't done so even when they improved the OS and MBP-only features.

I'm an Apple customer (owned a Mac Pro and MBP from two gens ago), and seeing Apple increasing prices over nothing out of the ordinary is a shame. It seems to me like they've been blinded by the cash flow from the consuming sector (iPod, iPhone, and now, iPad) that they're no longer paying attention to what the creative sector might want.

danny

Comments on

@raiden8383
You missed one, Vaio F has number pad on it.

waroxy

Comments on

@raiden8383: Enjoy your Vaio, but I'm going with MBP all the way.
