With telia-sonera, if you allready have a dataplan on your phone, it's 4 euros a month for extra sim card for ipad. They will share the number so you can't use both same time, but that's the only drawback.

For a "netbook" killer, you have to question the 2x-3x increase in cost for the Apple brand name, touch screen interface, and lack of freedom to install whatever app you might want (or commonly installed plug-in)

Having used our company R&D iPad, I have come to the conclusion that it is a novel device, fun for the first day or two, then it turns into something slightly annoying.

You can't really type as fast and clear as a keyboard. Connecting the keyboard/stand combo takes up more room than a netbook or small laptop. There are many times with notetaking I wish it supported a pen input like Wacom touch screens do. The lack of Flash is a pain in the a--. Regardless of the Flash haters, there are still plenty of instances after browsing for a week where I wish I had Flash.

Of course that leads me to the question: Can I activate a SIM for data on my iPad and then pop it into my iPhone HD (or whatever its going to be called), set up a sip account on the sip service it multitasks, and have my iPhone for only $30 bucks a month? Not quite. One shipped originally, and then there's this one that is being sold as a product different enough to be shipped separately with a primary differentiating factor, 3G.
