HDMI 1.4 is not required (though likely the new tv's will have that). The main point is to just look for tv's that are clearly labeled to be 3D compatible. I think Sony, Samsung and Panasonic mostly for now. You will also need to either wait for PS3 to support it, or buy a player that supports 3D blu-ray, in addition to buying shutter-glasses (which costs anywhere from 130-200 each at the moment - though Samsung will give you two pairs for free if you buy a tv AND blu-ray player from them)

tosvus

Comments on PlayStation 3.30 firmware is a go, 3D games support 'prepped'

Will 3D support be available for all past games (for the most part anyway) or just the new games coming out?

Harp

Comments on PlayStation 3.30 firmware is a go, 3D games support 'prepped'

@XciteMe " Oh, look at me, I'm a flippy little dolphin, let me flip for you."

ED

Comments on PlayStation 3.30 firmware is a go, 3D games support 'prepped'

Since 3D movies are out... why not, you know, work on support for those first instead of 3D games that aren't?

monkeycrackers

Comments on PlayStation 3.30 firmware is a go, 3D games support 'prepped'

@monkeycrackers - Bizarre that this update is just for games.
