Admittedly, this sort of information really only makes sense if you already know the product. For someone that's already used to a "large" Archos device, something like an ipad or an iphone doesn't seem terribly portable in terms of a video device.<br><br>This thing probably makes a dandy MCE/MythTV extender.<br><br>They make cool stuff. They push the tech farther in more meaningful ways than Apple does. Can't speak for the other models as I've never used them. I'd pass on the Archos 7 considering Archos announced a new line of tablets for summer.<br><br>But if anyone needs a tablet now and is a experienced Android user, I'd go for it or the A5. Even then, an atom just doesn't cut it on a full OS. A lot of web pages and documents suit being read a portrait screen. Just turn your tablet 90 degrees, not something you'd do with a netbook.<br><br>A flat multi-touch device is great for basic sketching and games to share, e.g. and especially board-games. It's better at being a portable entertainment device than a scaled down computer. They did away with the many extra paid add ons. The strongest points for it are video playback are very slick and the web is decent. I wouldn't advise anyone to purchase anything they make unless they have a RMA/Post Office fetish.<br><br>I bought an A5 from RadioShack last year (I figured it'd mess up and they have an easy return plan), and sure enough, it died on the 28th day. It locked up from a YOUTUBE VIDEO and then proceeded to crash every hour.<br><br>Excellent product.
