With the Nook running Linux I'm sure it's just a matter of time before somebody cracks this thing allowing it to cache entire books so you can still read them for free when you leave the store. If you use Advanced mode, they look much like they do on the computer. Of course, it's a bit mixed up, but anyone who follows w3c close enough will work great! I figure eventually everybody selling e-books will have some android app or another for buying/reading.<br><br>Would be better if they'd all just settle on one format (like mp3).  I get the feeling epub is headed there, but I'm not sure how it will all shake out with DRM.  Can I read any epub (with any drm) on a nook? Amazon does not care about Kindle, as they said they care about selling books no matter what vehicle they use. If nook is super best selling device, Amazon will do anything to make their books pop up on B&N device.<br><br>2. Books are a bit different than music. You listen to songs over and over and move them around from PC to PC to gym to ... with books, you read it once and then you are done (maybe few years later you read it again). They obviously don't want DRM free books, the torrent sites would explode. I actually don't mind Amazon's DRM. They could sell them on the Nook and pretty much every other eReader as well. They could at least implement interoperability with other MobiPocket devices. Or they could allow other readers to implement their DRM. This looks like a nice update, but I wonder if they've addressed the battery life issues at all? The whole point of an ebook reader is that I can get books and read them easily no matter where I am.<br>Also I have, on many occasions, been at the mall with the woman and stopped into a book store for _lengthy_ periods of time while she shopped at yet another inane store. As you move around the page by dragging, a selection box up top shows you where you are. <br>All-in-all, not too bad. Not great, but I might use it when I don't want to dig out a netbook but my phone screen is just too small.<br><br>The games are... cute. Don't care. I can't play a game and read at the same time obviously, so... whatever. I got this thing to read books.<br><br>On the other hand, there's still no way to go *directly to a page number!* and the music player can't distinguish folders, artists, or albums. No jump to page?! STILL!?<br><br>That's SOOO effin annoying.  Especially when you're reading a free book from Google books and the TOC is completely worthless.  I've actually stopped reading a book because I was 150 pages in and the nook locked up. After I rebooted I was back at the fist page without a table of contents. Why not use most of it? It bugs me when I see Tetris on small screens too such as phones and they fill it out with decorations and have the Tetris action only on half of the screen.
