I would agree with that. The EVO will actually be a lot like the iPhone, a great phone on a terrible network. Picked one up this morning. If anything, this is Verizon's iPhone. We need to stop the "iPhone killer" references. Apples != Oranges. A couple quick notes:

* Snapdragon + Sense = Win :)
* Phone build quality, although solid, does feel a bit cheap.
* The screen is awesome, and feels more responsive than the Nexus.
* On-screen keyboard is great. After owning an iPhone, I thought I would never be able to use another on-screen keyboard. No more.

Serious question here, not intended as flaming...

How do you know how well the battery life is after just getting it this morning?

1. they come with under half a battery from the box
2. With any new smart phone purchase you spend hours playing with it to check everything out... obviously going to drain the battery fast.

So are you judging battery life off of less than 25-50% battery life and 3 hours of doing nothing but playing on it? While the tendency is to play with it immediately after purchase, I had a busy morning.. so I just left it charging.

However after switching from a Droid, it's obvious this amoled screen can really suck down some juice. To combat this, the screen is crisp enough you can set it to 50% indoors and it's still plenty readable. Mind you I have sync on, but bluetooth, gps, and wifi off. Doing so is not such a hard feat anymore for a decent phone based on Android.

This is just the latest of many. Android marketplace is now at 50,000 apps and this past month there was a report by an analytics firm that there was more web traffic from Android based phones than iPhones.

You are delusional if you think that the Incredible is going to be considered an "iPhone Killer".

You clearly don't understand that what makes the iPhone so ridiculously popular isn't so much the hardware. It's the whole ecosystem that makes the iPhone what it is...the phone itself, the OS, the apps, the integration with one's music/video library.

The funny thing is, I have an iPod Touch 3G, so I understand the whole "experience". What I mean by "iPhone killer", is something as powerful as the iPhone, but with an openess seen only on other systems. Android is rapidly gaining all the "apps", and is far more customizable than anything Apple. I agree with Mr Blue... battery's not very good...

I preordered my Incredible on 04/19, I received it on Tues 04/27, charged it up, set everything up, used it, charged again Tues night, used it all day Wed, but the battery was dead by 5pm. Tried charging from 5pm yesterday all the way till 7am this morning. The phone wouldn't charge, wouldn't even power up while plugged in now. I've called Verizon CSR, & they're overnighting me a new one for tomorrow.
