You do realize that my phone came with Windows 6.0. It was officially upgraded to Windows 6.1.

Unofficially, it's been upgraded to three or four different builds of Windows 6.5xx. Then it went through Android 1.5, 1.6. and now 2.1. None of those OS' were ever designed to run on my phone. Through the efforts of the guys at PPCGeeks and XDA my phone is running the latest greatest available.

The problem is that 6.0, 6.1, 6.5, 6.5.3, 6.5.5 were all based on Windows CE5 Kernel, Windows Phone 7 is based of CE7 and drivers are nowhere near exchangeable, porting between all of the 6's was fairly simple while Porting to CE7 would require a full driver rewrite, which no one can actually do.

I'm on Sprint and have been waiting to buy a replacement phone for years now. I have the touch and it is a good phone if you put WM 6.5.5 on it but the screen is small and the battery isn't great and the resolution is low. I tried the diamond and it had a smaller screen, worse battery life and sucked donkey balls so I went back to my old touch/vogue. I wanted the imagio but Sprint only carries the Touch Pro 2 which is thick and has a keyboard but it is a pretty good screen.

I've set up a number of android phones for my clients and they seem in love for about an hour until they use it and find how it doesn't really meet their work needs.

I'm not at all in love with WM6.5 but on Sprint I can't get iPhone which seems pretty darn good if it weren't for ATT coverage (I had them years back and doubt I'll ever want ATT again and all my clients bitch about coverage on the iPhone that they can't give up).

I think android has potential but right now is pretty dang limited. I can't tell you how many of my clients have returned their Nexus one's, Droid and other nifty pieces of hardware because they didn't like Android. Again, I'm not bad mouthing android - it appears to be a very powerful but half finished OS.

Right now WP7 shows a lot of potential but since I haven't tried it yet I'm not sure how well it will meet my business needs but I'd have to guess better than Android does but hopefully Android will be great too by the time WP7 is released.

I haven't see anything about it but hopefully it will come with the OS like in previous Windows Mobile phones. They were viewing and editing existing documents in the demo. It will also link to you Live ID so there will probably be some synchronization with Office Live. So being able to edit existing documents would be a must.

I liked the fact that you can edit PowerPoint presentations.
