How much longer before creating almost anything "new" involves a patent violation and a lawsuit?  It only helps the big money monopolies out there and squashes innovation, and lines the pockets of the patent lawyers. LG supplies a HUGE amount of panels for almost every major manufacturer.  Just about every IPS panel is also manufactured by LG, also. However it usually involves allowing continued importation for something like 50 cents per panel, which is generally not a real concern on $1000 LCD TVs.<br>Still, LG has probably the worst patent trolling lawyers ever...who doesn't bother to check whether the people they're accusing of patent infringement maybe has older patents that actually invalidate yours?!  I mean AUO basically didn't even realize LG was infringing on their patents until LG let them know by suing them.
