Six mothns ago has the most beautiful and powerful device, now is the worst thing ever.

No multitouch, no 16 millin colors, no HDMI output, no HD video recording, no AMOLED screen and made of plastic. I bet u don't even have or touched xperia x10.

I have had many smartphones and this is the best phone so far. the built quality is great, very nice camera and a fast UI. android 1.6 isnt that bad either and will get 16 mil colors with an update soon.

We are all different, until my boss (former iPhone owner, now Android die-hard) moved our company schedule/mail/etc to Google Apps, I did not imagine myself browsing the internet on that small screen.
And, if I have to buy a smartphone, I do not see why I will pay for Android 1.6 at this time.

I don't own an N1, Droid, or Incredible. However, I am thinking about getting a new phone. I played with the Incredible a few days ago after a friend of mine purchased one. I was pretty impressed with it. I just don't see how a major phone release Sony has been working on for a good while now will take until the end of the year to get an OS upgrade that has been out since January, while other companies are releasing it now. I am sure that will weigh into the decision factor of people that are buying phones when this comes out. It's beating every other phone and sales predictions.

While the iPhone produced good results with Softbank, the X10 is getting grabbed up by those loyal/locked in to DoCoMo, AKA the 800 pound gorilla. I was actually comparing the X10 and the Desire yesterday in the Carphone Warehouse - apart from the marginally larger screen and better camera, the Desire definitely felt the better of the two, being thinner, lighter and more responsive. My wife got one of these phones (X10) and I have to say SE's software is worthless, she runs GDE with custom skin and Beautiful Widgets,Handcent etc. both Timescape and Mediascape are useless, cubed (3) makes Mediascape look ancient.

I have both HTC Desire and the SE X10, the Desire on contract (I got it for free) and the X10 through other channels :).

The pinch zoom in Desire is nice but really not a deal breaker. The screen on Desire feels 'sticky' but looks a bit more colourful, not much, but there is a difference. However if I take the 2 on a walk in a lovely sunny weather I def. brings the X10 cause that screen is just awesome, way better in sunshine than the Desire. UI-wise: Sense or UXP? I can't say wich one I preffer, both are really nice to play with but the UXP in X10 feels alot smarter than the sense UI. Camerawise it's not even a competition, the X10 is without a doubt the best Android camera out there.

Laggyness: The first X10 I tried in early feb was a bit laggy in the UI, not in the stock Android menues. Now, there is no laggyness in the UXP other when it's updating facebook accounts/twitter accounts while downloading all the new content.

The Desire feels a little bit faster in the menues but when you put them together it's not really much.

I didn't buy the X10 because of Android 1.6 but for the feel and the looks of the UXP and it has not disappointed me at all, yet! It really looks awesome.

The Desire is not that good looking but feels great and it's a tiny bit faster overall, but I can't understand why the screen feels sticky compared to the X10.
