I have no problem showing mine off to interested people who almost always either fall in love or write it off without even touching it almost as if they are afraid of liking it. Yes, technically all those are computers. That is not my point. My point is: how you can say that it's missing features? Based on what? Are there rules about what features a device should come with? No. So why do we expect specific features of a specific device? Because we put them in categories. I find it funny that people compare the iPad to whatever suits them at the moment. I was implying there are about a dozen or so companies I think could put a slate together without much worry about warranties, etc (so I wasn't thinking about Fusion Garage). So, it'd be Lenovo, Dell, etc. Thinking of about 6+ OEMs that I would trust, some of them have rumored or announced slates.

As far as shipped units, yes, you are right. But I also said "I would rather" so, given that phrase, I don't actually need an alternative to really be grammatically correct. It's like saying, I'd rather shoot myself in the foot than go to war, or I'd rather speak to the devil than see my mother-in-law. These are legitimate statements, regardless of if you were never asked to go to war or if you can speak to the devil.
