It's more portable than an ipad and can do more. It's lighter, more powerful and more expensive. I'd take a Vaio P over the $839 64gb ipad 3g version.

Yeah Sony NEVER gets it right. Apart from the Blu-ray which you mentioned...and the CD...and the 3.5 floppy disk which was only discontinued THIS year. Oh and the fact that those Betamax tapes were a standard in video broadcasting all over the world so netted Sony billions.

I'm with you on that. Sony has led a number of notable projects over the years. I am not anti-Sony at all, I feel unfortunately for them they were the old Apple. Cool to be seen with, semi-proprietary, overpriced. Just like Apple they did lead some great innovations, we can thank the Sony Clie for where portable computers are today and thank Apple for where they will be in the future.
