And VIA owns the Cyrix trademark, and had their design team, but when they proved themselves incompetent compared to Centaur, who was designing the C3 (their "low-end" chip, which ultimately replaced the Cyrix III in VIA's product plannng,) they ditched all of it.

i agree, ThinkPads are outrageously overpriced for things that any other maker would consider as basic.
