I was hesitant, thinking these wouldn't stay in my ears, but they do, even after several miles of fast pace running.

They are not meant to be submerged under water.

The reason why they are making a big deal over the water resistant feature is because their last gen model was not water resistant, and therefore sweat would damage the headset over time. Whoops!

While the band and mp3 player it self are water resistant, water can enter in through the ear bud, and it cautions against this. Now I guess if you have a water tight seal between your ear and the ear plug, you would be fine, but these are not designed to fit snug in your ear. The bass balance is actually set so that these sit a little outside of your ear canal.
