So I don't see your point their. They are offering apps that can be paid for. I understand that nobody on the internet wants to pay for anything, but some people are willing to pay for a good product, which is what this idea is. And selling a small piece of web software is not an Apple business strategy, its common sense. Thats like saying that Apple is the only one that though of multitouch screens. And not all of Google's options are more expensive than the desktop versions. They want all of your data in a cloud, and a cheap system to be your portal to that. What is appealing is using virtually any browser to access your account. All of your apps, all of your content. Later, if things go well (from Google's perspective), who knows.  Charging $500 for photo editing software would not be "evil."  What is truly remarkable is the positive reception:  if it were Microsoft trying this, I think there'd be a giant fuss.  This is, potentially, the way Bill Gates's dream of a subscription model finally comes true. You can sideload unfinished versions but it would be nice for Google to announce its completion and that hardware partners are now working with it.
