Here in the UK we have free O-T-A digital TV (Freeview), Freesat and Freesat-from-Sky; free satellite services, Virgin Media (paid cable) and Sky (paid satellite). That's it. The lack of competition would seem like a bad thing, but in practice it's not since the free competition keeps the prices for the paid services down. DVRs are available for all services (even the free ones) but the ones for the free services only cost a one-off fee, the Sky one is part of the service (I think) so is part of the standard subscription, and the Virgin one costs, but a very small amount (£5(~$7.50)/month; free if you have the biggest channel package). First of all, think outside the box, what we see is an Android OS presentation, I'm sure with the right agreement, Sony can extract the vital components and bring it to the PS3.

PS3 is selling on par mostly with X360 in US. Most of PS3 exclusives have been in TOP10 software sales when they are released.
