AMOLED technology needs to address three major problems.<br>The biggest problem is outdoor viewing...Samsung claims to have solved that with "SuperAMOLED" but I am skeptical, although since I've never seen one of these displays in person, I can't give a final opinion on it.  The second problem is cost, and the third problem is pixel burnout \ image burn.  If they can solve these problems, more power to them. I only hope the Q4 Gingerbreads get it. It's a dealbreaker to me. I believe them. But I never held an AMOLED device in my hands before, only LCD. The manufacture does all the developing and determines if the phone is worth the investment of the update. There is no reason the carrier would ever say no to an update unless they had to pay for it which why would they pay for it. <br><br>Anyway luckily I got this phone for free (won it). I'll take the somewhat washed out color on an iPhone 3GS- or hell, an iPAQ 3600!- to having a screen that's almost unusable outdoors. Youtube, sprint tv, espn, etc. The whole can't see in the sunlight is a lil rough but not a deal breaker for me(obvisously). I just cast a shadow or use voice commands. In never really outside during the day, I work nites, so it doesn't drive me bonkers like the other blind people who are complaining(I kid I kid). <br><br>To those who haven't seen one in action it is truly an awesome tech for mobile phones.
