AMOLED technology needs to address three major problems.
The biggest problem is outdoor viewing...Samsung claims to have solved that with "SuperAMOLED" but I am skeptical, although since I've never seen one of these displays in person, I can't give a final opinion on it. The second problem is cost, and the third problem is pixel burnout \ image burn. If they can solve these problems, more power to them. You shouldn't blame Samsung. Blame the carriers. Samsung only makes phones that are customized for each carriers' preferences. The carriers are the ones who decides to upgrade your OS or not.
