Still I find it unfortunate that even after such a glowing review, you're like "well, yeah but I wouldn't switch from Verizon". This is why Sprint is doing so poorly despite the best prices and plans available. The whole carrier loyalty thing is why there is no real competition in the market. You can offer the best phone and the best prices and the first 4G and everything but people won't switch carriers? Coverage is not as good as Verizon in rural areas for certain but in cities, towns and along highways it is great. If for some reason you aren't in native coverage you roam free on Verizon. Only time that ever happens to me is in the DC metro tunnels where VZW has an exclusive contract.

Maybe it makes me a Sprint fanboy but I just find it sad that a company's attempt to compete are thwarted by habit and inertia. If someone came out with a better phone/plan/service combo I would switch in a second.

Also as far as 4G, I don't think you would want to leave it on all the time when not using it. It's pointless because you don't need it to get calls or texts or emails. Think of it more like city-wide WiFi that you can toggle on or off when you need it. The little 4G widget makes it simple to turn it on when you are going to stream a video or browse the web the same way you would toggle your WiFi radio or Bluetooth radio when you need to use them.

neodorian

Comments on Engadget Podcast 197 - 05.22.2010

This probably was the best podcast.
