Special, I'd say Android is close to special in an PMP (mostly assuming marketplace support which I actually would guess it wouldn't have if tablets are a good precedent, but, oddly enough, they do show pics of the games from the marketplace), though Android is not for everyone. Besides FLAC it seems to have other good format support and a few stickers to put on Audio quality (bring that back!) SRS, TruBass, FOCUS, HD audio, limiter and 10-band user adjustable EQ. Until Google treats pmp's as first class devices, I think the Ipod touch is going to eat Android lunch in the pmp market. This is a pity as: 1) Android devices have better screens and (this one at least) hd out-- perfect for a pmp. 2) Apple doesn't exactly treat the ipod touch as first class, in fact they are rather mean about charging for updates. 3) I'd like to try out android without a high priced data plan.

Qrk

Comments on

What is up with the busted screen. As is price? I think 2 things about the success about the iPod, it's app store and its UI. Before the iPod touch Apple had massive sales, so it was just people staying with the brand they knew and loved.

App Store, UI, brand-loyalty; those are the reasons. If Apple had used AMOLED and in it was still the most successful, it wouldn't mean that Super AMOLED would be an inflated spec..right?
