Home Launcher may be removed/disabled. I read that this happened with the consumer model of the UK Desire (review units were able to clear Sense UI as the default launcher, but it ended up being removed for whatever reason).

Hm, reading that back it sounds weird and confusing haha. Why would anyone buy just the cable? They got the dock w/cable for and extra 10 spot. Seems like a no-brainer to me.
