Never saw the confirmation for Galaxy S on Sprint, it was confirmed to be a GSM phone, I can't see it launched on Sprint or Verizon.

Not exactly. The iPad's A4, Quallcomm's Snapdragon, Ti's OMAP 3 Series and Samsung's Hummingbird all use the Cortex A8 Core from Arm, but all are different SOCs.

Hummingbird is according to Samsung the one with the fastest graphics processor SGX540 vs. SGX535 in A4/iPhone/some Omap3 (some have the SGX 530). Snapdragon is weaker graphics wise.

Why not? Samsung makes all the parts for the phones you love...such as the AMOLED displays, the processors for Apple, the flash memory in just about any phone (Toshiba makes flash memory for phones too), and a lot of other parts...Why not buy a phone from them?
