Two observations:
Firstly, I'd have liked to have seen a screwdriver used rather than a pen, although seriously I think I could have put that pen through the glass, I think his stabbing was half-hearted.

Secondly, I'd also liked to have seen then same tests done to the other handsets on the table.

I have to admit I got a sick feeling in my stomach as I watched them do that. God its amazing how durable that thing is? And that is quite a large screen.

Regardless of whether the glass is damaged it is obvious that the LCD behind the glass is being damaged by each blow. I just tried that on my phone and I didn't cause damage either. It doesn't have gorilla glass. I think the pen stabbing test is lame.

My experience with the Dell support in Germany and Finland is excellent (in Singapore not so much it seems, though I didn't call them). Yes, they go by a check list, but I see their point in doing so, and when they are through they are extremely fast and helpful. (I do have the plan where they come to your home to repair the laptop.)

Anyway, painful video, but extremely impressive. I do not think an iPhone would have survived that.
