My HTC Dream plays all danish and a few international channals (BBC,MTV, NBC, etc) without any problem .
you just have to subscribe to 3 (which is also the best cell provider in Scandinavia) and download the 3mobilTV app. And possibly get the 200DKK ( 30$) unlimited data plan.

I'm surprised that they still have analog TV in Taiwan.
We could not use this in Europe or the US anyway. Plus it puts a load on the data network so if enough people are watching normal browsing can be affected.

Picking up broadcasts is great, it's not on demand but there is zero network impact.
