It looks like a slice of smartphone heaven. <br><br>However, based on the crappy quality and general silliness of the ad, I find it hard to believe it's a real ad. Looks more like someone took a PC ad from 2005 and slapped on a screenshot of a phone they sketched, to make it look real. All the rest of the bunch are pretty much stuck with Android 1.5-1.6 and a few will never ever get a single update. Not Google's fault, i'll give you that, but we're disscussing manufacturers here, aren't we?.<br><br>As for the iPhone, those are regularly released updates indeed. More precisely, once a year. So you'll get two updates (including features that everyone else has had for ages), And then, by the third year, your device is no longer considered cool enough to get the new stuff.<br><br>Meanwhile, i updated my symbian device three times in the last year. Please...<br><br>I admit that the geek in me would be love to have a 2Ghz processor in my phone but do you really think that battery wise will not suffer? Dont forget that Nokia N900 already runs overclocked (if this is good or bad depends on personal taste) so I dont know how come this could not be the same for future MeeGo devices. <br><br>I dont know about you but for me I still want a phone and not a brick with a 2Ghz processor heating my ear while I speak for 5 mins and requiring recharging every 7 hours. Processor in Symbian devices might be slower but at least the battery lasts... I dont know what you do with your phone to really need a 2Ghz proc now.<br><br>I have used N8 with what you refer as a "slow proc" and it behaves wonderfully with it... Even while editing video and shooting 12 mp pictures.<br><br>You make sound as if the N8 is a shabby device, but compared to iPhone 4 it is much better.<br><br>ps. About the phone of the article. IMO is Horrible. I love the N8 form factor but somehow it does not go with this design. And Ricker, finally we agree. Even on my HD2 I've found that after the initial "yeah snapdragon!", no matter what I throw at it, I simply don't see much use for such a speed. Most of the time it's completely wasted.<br><br>3D games would be the only thing that would somewhat require it but a good gpu and drivers can more than make up for it. So in essence, good 2d/3d drivers and a good gpu and you really don't need that much processing power.<br><br>The MHz thing, like the omguberpixeldensity and omgmegapixels is nothing more than marketing tools.
